B.a.t.t.l.e. 2] Game Guide and Beverage Maker v1.2 10/2/00 Assembled by shoryuken and shinya, masters of the universe | =========================================================== - A brief intro to this FAQ. Shinya and I decided to put this puppy together in order to aid all the helpless souls that wander(no pun inteneded) the SB2, GameFaqs message board. Without your questions and whining about not having a FAQ, this might not have been written. Either way, please go easy on us as this is our first FAQ. I hope you enjoy it and more importantly find it helpful in your race around Tokyo. Happing racing! -shoryuken NOTE: This FAQ was written orginally for the import version TXR2, so not all the info may ring true for the US version, but I will try to update and add as much as I can about the US TXR2. Thanks! ================================ [Contents] | ================================ -Version History -Car List -A -B -C -Wanderer and Boss Guide -Questions/Answers -Tips,Tricks, and Cheats -Contact -What's next? ================================ [Version History] | ================================ v1.2,10/2/00: Added a few things to the Questions section. The US version is out now, so expect stuff about that. v1.1,08/16/00: Just a very small addon to the Tips/Tricks Section. Fixed some typos. v1.0,08/15/00: The virgin version of the FAQ. Everything is new and wonderful. Q: Why Does the Game freeze up when I try to save? A: There could be a number of reasons for this. It depends on what kind of system you are using to play the game. If you are using an Asian terriotry Dreamcast it shouldn't be a problem. If it is, then your game is screwed up and you should go complain to your importer or genki. If you are like me and using a modded US DC then the problem is probably in your VMU. You may want to try switching VMUs each time you save. If this a problem never save by quiting, instead make sure to save through the system menu ( one to the left of the exit button). FI you are using the boot CD to play either a copied or imported version of the game, check with the website where you burned the boot CD from, they might have a newer version which will work fine with the game. Q:How do I unlock the rest of the track? A: There are two bosses you must beat in order to unlock the whole track. One is a NSX and the other is (I believe) and RX-7. Check the wanderers and boss guide section for more specifics. Q: Are there any non-japanese cars in SB2? A: Yes quite a few, see shinya's list for the models and their corresponding game types. Q: Is it possible to race two Cars at the same time? A: No. But you can drive by other rivals while in a race, it does absouletly nothing though. Q: Where do I get the good Porsche? You know the 911 Turbo? A: You have to beat Zero, the boss from TXR1. You'll find him. Q: Is there really an M3 in the game? A: Yes. Keep looking. you need to beat everyone in Justice Gang for it to appear. Q: What's the deal, why should I waste money on modifications that don't up the HP of my car? A: Quite simply, there's a lot more to racing than just a fast car. You'll often find that even with a high HP you still lose races. You need to invest in modifications that improve the handling and control of your vehicle in order ot maximize your performance. So, spend that dough on sometihng besides HP enhancers. Please feel free to e-mail me at largecola@hotmail.com with your questions. I will do my best to answer them, and put them in the next version. ================================ [Tips,Tricks and Cheats] | ================================ -Yes. Tips and Tricks. Well, Let's start with the only real cheat for the game, it works quite well, but it takes just about all the fun out of the game: [Win Every Time, no matter what, I promise] (NOTE: Apparently this doesn't work with the US version of the game. Sorry) First of you need two controllers, if you only have one stop reading. Ok, plug a second controller into the second port of the DC. Now start a race and after about 3 seconds hold down the L and R triggers on the SECOND controller then, still holding the triggers, press A. You will win automatically. To lose or draw subsitute A for X and y respectively. [Turning Tip] It's always better to bounce off a car than a wall. So if you find you have too much speed going into a turn, look for a car to bank off of. You'll save alot of speed than if you had plowed into the wall. [Clear Pause Screen] To have a clear pause screen just hit X+Y simultaneously. Now you can take screenshots! (Thanks to Dave at cheatcc.com for this tip) ================================ [Contact] | ================================ want to talk to us about the game?
