Toy Racer is an online racing game developed by French game developers No Cliché and is published by Sega Europe. It is a spin-off from No Cliché's Dreamcast launch title Toy Commander and features all of the vehicles from that game with an emphasis on the racing elements from the origonal. It retails in the UK for the cheap price of £4.99 with £1 from every purchase going to the ESC - Entertainment Software Charity. So by purchasing this game, not only will you have a great racing game but you will have helped a worthwhile cause too! Title: Toy Racer Developer: No Cliché Publisher: Sega Europe Origin: Europe - France Price: £4.99 Released: 15th December 2000 ELSPA (European Leisure Software Publishers Association (UK) LTD.) rating: 3+ 2.2 Brief Overview of Game Features - Local mode with split screen play for 1-4 players - Training mode for 1 player - Network play for up to 4 players - Options screen to customise the game - VGA compatible - Race Controller compatible - Keyboard compatible - Visual Memory compatible - Vibration Pack compatible - 24 vehicles - 4 Hidden vehichles - 4 Tracks - 5 Weapons - 3 Bonuses - 4 Mischief bonuses 2.3 Mini-Review *****COMING SOON***** =============== Control System =============== 3.1 The Control System for Toy Racer The control configuration is easy to use and fits the game well: A = Fire Weapon that you have picked up B = Use boost (requires boost power left in the boost meter) X = Viewpoint Selection,3 to choose from: Close-Up (default), Distant and in car Y = Rear view R-Trigger = Acceleration L-Trigger = Brake, hold down to activate reverse START = Pauses gameplay =========== Game Modes =========== 4.1 Training This mode is basically a practise mode for 1 player only. In this mode you can practise each track to try and get the best times or to just hone your skills. It is worth meantioning that you cannot use weapons or mischief bonuses and cannot race against any other cars, computer controlled or human, leaving this modes main function as a sort of time trial mode. 4.2 Local This mode allows you to participate in races against up to 4 players. Weapons are allowed in this mode but make sure you turn inverted steering on (it is off by default) to cause pain to your friends. ^_^ Great multiplayer sessions can be had in this mode with up to 4 players all trying to blast each other and finish in first place. In on multiplayer game that I played I had all the mischief weapons turned onto me; icy road so I had to go around every corner practically sideways, London Fog so I couldn't see where I was actually going, Snail speed so I was reduced to a crawling speed and inverted steering which always seems to turn off just when you have adjusted to the inverted controls. ^_^ Remember however, one of the design faults of the Dreamcast controller means that because of the lead length, you are going to be in punching distance from your "friends!" *Ouch!* 4.3 Network *****COMING SOON***** 4.4 Homepage *****COMING SOON***** 4.5 Options *****COMING SOON***** Vehicles *****COMING SOON***** HERE FOR LAYOUT PURPOSES ONLY Track Guide *****COMING SOON***** HERE FOR LAYOUT PURPOSES ONLY Weapons Guide *****COMING SOON***** HERE FOR LAYOUT PURPOSES ONLY Bonuses *****COMING SOON***** HERE FOR LAYOUT PURPOSES ONLY***** Mischief Bonuses *****COMING SOON***** HERE FOR LAYOUT PURPOSES ONLY Game Glitches *****COMING SOON***** HERE FOR LAYOUT PURPOSES ONLY Cheat Codes There are no know cheat codes for this game at the moment - please email me if you find any!
